    One taken to Iowa City after Port Byron crash

    One person was flown to Iowa City by MEDFORCE for treatment after an accident in Port Byron today, according to a news release from the Rock Island County Sheriff.

    Rock Island County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 256th Street North and 94th Avenue North, Port Byron on Thursday, September 19. Investigators determined that a vehicle traveling north on 256th Street North was struck by a vehicle traveling east on 94th Avenue North.

    Three people were in the northbound vehicle. The driver was flown by MEDFORCE to Iowa City Hospitals for treatment and is in stable condition. The other passengers were taken to Genesis Medical Center in Silvis and released.

    The driver of the eastbound vehicle was treated at the scene and released. The crash remains under investigation and no names or further information will be released at this time.
