    Boil order lifted for parts of Moline

    UPDATE : The precautionary boil order that was issued Monday for only the following areas in Moline has been lifted as of 5:43 p.m. Tuesday for 6th-12th Avenues between 50th-55th Streets and 5008 5th Avenue, according to a news release.

    Laboratory tests have verified that no contamination occurred in this area during the low pressure event that occurred Monday. City administrators “appreciate the patience and understanding demonstrated by the residents in this relatively large area during this event.”

    Residents in areas 50th Street-55th Street; 2nd Avenue-5th Avenue; 171 55th Street; 550 53rd Street Drive; 5333 6th Avenue; 500 54th Street A, 4800 block of 6th Avenue Drive; 625-840 48th Street and 4725 8th Avenue are still under a precautionary boil order notice until further notice.

    EARLIER UPDATE: According to a release from the City of Moline, a boil order has been issued for the 300, 400 and 500 blocks of 50th, 51st, 52nd, 53rd, 54th and 55th streets. Water had to be shut off to facilitate a water main repair. Once water is restored, anyone in these areas will be under a precautionary boil order until Wednesday, September 25.

    EARLIER: Low water pressure in parts of Moline has led to a boil order until further notice.

    A news release from the city’s Utilities Department, Water Division says a boil order has been issued for the northeast part of Moline, from Second Avenue to 12 th Ave and between 50 th – 55 th Streets.

    The area experienced low pressure due to a water main repair. Residents and businesses in the area are encouraged to boil water for five minutes before using it for cooking or drinking. Updates can be found on the Moline Water Facebook page and City of Moline’s website . Call the City of Moline Utilities at (309) 524-2300 with questions or concerns.
