Cheer on the Iowa Hawkeyes in Eldridge while raising funds for pancreatic cancer patients in the QCA.

Ohl Strong, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting people with pancreatic cancer, is hosting a tailgate party on Saturday, October 5, starting at 11 a.m. at the Traditions Event Center, 2150 E. LeClaire Road in Eldridge. Supporters can root for the Hawkeyes while enjoying barbecue, a raffle and a silent auction. All proceeds go to pancreatic cancer patients within a 72-mile radius of the greater Quad Cities.

The organization was founded by Peggy Ohl, along with the Trinity Health Foundation, after the death of her husband, Dr. Brent Ohl, who died after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer in August 2016. Ohl Strong’s goal is to help all patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the greater Quad Cities and give them a packet with $500 in Visa gift cards and an application to apply for additional funding.

Since last year’s tailgate party, $28,000 has been given to support pancreatic cancer patients. For more information or to donate, click here or contact Peggy Ohl at (309) 721-1356.
