Nahant Marsh opens new Operations Building

Nahant Marsh Educational Center held a ribbon cutting this morning for its new Operations Building.

The 5,260-square-foot building has a natural resources maintenance shop, expanded office space and an additional classroom/lab space. The ribbon cutting is also the official opening of the East Trail, a one1 mile-long trail featuring crushed rock and pavement.

Nahant Marsh is a 382-acre nature preserve in southwest Davenport. It is one of the largest urban wetlands on the Upper Mississippi River and offers educational programming for over 23,000 people each year. An additional 50,000 people use Nahant’s trails for recreation. Click here for more on Nahant Marsh Educational Center.
