Government Bridge closing for cleaning

Anyone who had plans for using the Rock Island Arsenal Bridge (Government Bridge) on Saturday needs to make alternative plans.

A news release from the Rock Island Arsenal says the Directorate of Public Works will close the Government Bridge to vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic on Saturday, October 5 from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. to clean the underside of the bridge and the rail deck.

Signage will warn and direct traffic during the cleaning
