The Silvis Public Library is currently celebrating its 100th year as a free library. What better way to mark this special occasion than with an author’s fair? The Silvis Public Library Local Authors Fair will take place at the library on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. right at the start of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).

There will also be a panel discussion and presentations on writings resources in the Quad Cities and NaNoWriMo.

The library already has 9 talented authors confirmed, with more to come. You’ll have the chance to meet these authors, discuss their works, ask questions and purchase signed copies of their books.

In addition, Ryan Collins from the Midwest Writing Center will be joining to share his expertise and passion for writing.

There will be a special presentation on National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), offering valuable tips and inspiration for anyone interested in embarking on their own writing adventure.

“This event aims to celebrate the literary talent within the Quad Cities and surrounding areas,” Minda Powers-Douglas, adult programmer of Silvis Public Library, said. “It will be an excellent opportunity for authors to engage with the community, discuss their works, as well as sell and sign copies of their books. This event underscores our commitment to fostering a love for reading and supporting local authors.”

The event is free and open to all adults.
