The incident unfolded on Friday, December 15th, 2023, around 7:30 p.m. in the 44600 block of Sierra Highway.

The family said that on that day, as Gor's parents were en route to purchase groceries, an encounter with a suspect driver escalated into an unthinkable tragedy.

This distressing incident unfolded in the City of Lancaster when the suspect driver, identified as Byron Burkhart, 29, and his passenger girlfriend, Alexandria Gentile, 27, aggressively cut off the Adamyan family, and pursued the family's vehicle through various surface streets.

The suspect's vehicle pulled alongside the family's vehicle and the suspect reportedly fired at least eight shots on the Adamyan family's vehicle, resulting in the death of their young son, Gor Adamyan.

In response to the heart-rending loss, the Adamyan family, through a GoFundMe account, reached out for compassionate support, describing the devastating turn of events that led to the untimely death of Gor Adamyan just ten days before Christmas.

The family expressed their profound gratitude for the outpouring of generosity from the community and emphasized the financial and emotional support's meaningful impact during this difficult period.

The alleged perpetrator, Byron Burkhart, has been charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and other related charges. He is being held on a $2 million bond and is set to be arraigned in January.

The tragic incident has sparked an incredible show of solidarity and financial support for the grieving family, as the community stands united in honoring the memory of Gor Adamyan and offering assistance during their time of profound loss.

This is a generous outpouring of support by our community but nothing can mend the broken hearts of these parents. The needless taking of this young child’s life is nothing short of horrific. Christmas will be a heart wrenching reminder for his parents for the rest of their lives.
