Hit-and-Run Crash Caused a Temporary Closure of Northbound Interstate 15 Near 15/215 Split

DEVORE, California -- A hit-and-run crash led to the closure of the slow lane on northbound Interstate 15 near the 15/215 split during the rainy Monday afternoon.

The collision occurred around 3:05 pm on January 22, 2024, in the vicinity of the truck bypass lanes.

The vehicles involved in the incident were identified as a black Jeep Compass, which had overturned and blocked the slow lane, and a gray pickup truck.

According to The California Highway Patrol (CHP) traffic log, the vehicle responsible for fleeing the scene is believed to be a gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with damage on the driver's side.

The collision resulted in minor injuries for the occupants of the overturned Jeep, as confirmed by the Fire Department.

As of now, additional details regarding the crash are limited.

The California Highway Patrol, Inland Office, will be conducting a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run.
