53-Year-Old Driver Dies After Crashing With a Semi on I-10 in Colton

COLTON, California -- The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Phelan man on February 12, 2024.

At about 2:45 pm, 53-year-old David W. Oreb, was behind the wheel of a 1996 Toyota Camry, and traveling on I-10 eastbound, east of Mt. Vernon Avenue, at an undisclosed speed.

For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle veered right and collided with a tractor-trailer.

The impact of the crash necessitated the driver's immediate transport to a local hospital. Unfortunately, despite efforts by emergency personnel, Oreb succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
