LOCK HAVEN, CLINTON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials released more details after a person was confirmed dead after a drowning incident on Saturday.

A release by the Lock Haven Police Department states that the body of an 18-year-old man, later identified by Clinton County Coroner Zach Hanna to be Gavin Frey from Howard, Pennsylvania, was pulled from the Susquehanna River.

Authorities say rescue crews were called just before 5:00 p.m. to Lock Haven City Beach on Vesper Street and East Water Street for a report of two swimmers in the Susquehanna River who were yelling before going underwater.

Officials say the 22-year-old was rescued by a private boat before being transported.

Rescue efforts continued for Frey before his body was discovered around 7:00 p.m. according to the release.

The identity of the 22-year-old man has not been released, and authorities say no further information will be released at this time.
