Train @ Artpark, Lewiston, NY 7-19-24
This a big year for Train. Even though there wasn’t a new album released, the band continues to stay busy. They are getting ready to release a new DVD called ‘Train Live at Royal Albert Hall’ on July 26. They just celebrated their 15th anniversary of ‘Save Me, San Francisco’ a few weeks ago. They also sold out their ‘Sail Across the Sun’ cruise back in March. Lastly, the band is currently on tour with Reo Speedwagon and Yacht Rock Revue. They took a detour from that tour to headline their own show at Artpark in Lewiston, NY this past Friday. This was the bands first appearance at Artpark.

Beau Fleuve Music & Arts Festival is back for its eighth celebration weekend at Buffalo Central Terminal. On August 25, traipse through local art, listen to live music, and enjoy delicious food. This year’s headliner is Infinity Song, a NYC-based soft rock and R&B band that has released three albums under the label Roc Nation. Beau Fleuve also teamed up with the Exchange at Beverly Gray to bring back the Pull Up & Pitch competition: a fast-paced pitch fest where minority-owned business owners deliver elevator speeches to a panel of judges to secure capital, coworking space, and free advisement.

Governor Hochul Awards Key Contract for Syracuse’s Transformative I-81 Project
(WNY News Now) – Syracuse – Governor Kathy Hochul announced the award of the fourth construction contract for the transformative Interstate 81 Viaduct Project. The award of the $313.5 million contract to CNY Alliance will begin construction on the Community Grid along streets on Syracuse’s eastside, in the former 15th Ward neighborhood. The Community Grid will replace the elevated highway in Downtown Syracuse and will relieve existing traffic congestion challenges in the city, while improving access to and from the interstate highway network and key destinations, including the downtown business districts, area hospitals, and higher education institutions.

Recently, July 16, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced a record State investment of nearly $51 million for public safety on Long Island. Nassau County agencies received $1,494,692 and Suffolk County agencies received $1,307,677 for the GIVE funding cycle that runs from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. This funding also includes approximately $21.1 million in one-time capital funding to 39 police departments and sheriffs’ offices – including $387,042 for the purchase of law enforcement technology and equipment to allow those agencies more effectively solve, reduce and prevent crime.
