Lodi: 2 Men, 2 Juveniles Arrested In Connection With Carjacking

A police pursuit in Lodi earlier this week ended with a collision, two men and two juveniles arrested, and the seizure of four loaded firearms.

Police said that officers had responded on Monday to Hale Park at 209 East Locust Street regarding a carjacking. Someone had reported that a stranger had attacked him and stole his vehicle.

An officer spotted the stolen vehicle Tuesday and attempted to stop it, but the driver fled. A pursuit was initiated and ended when the stolen car crashed into a center median and guardrail near Ham and Harney lanes, police said.

Police said four Lodi residents were located inside the vehicle. Two were underage children and the other two were identified as 18-year-old Rafa Luna-Garcia and 18-year-old Angel Vergara-Castaneda.

Allegedly, a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of four loaded firearms including a short-barrel assault rifle, and three handguns with extended magazines, two of which were stolen and equipped with automatic selector switches.
