West Virginia Doctor Indicted for Illegitimate Distribution of Clonazepam
A West Virginia doctor is set to appear in court on Thursday following an indictment for distributing Clonazepam, also known as Klonopin, without a legitimate medical purpose. Dr. Brian McDevitt, an osteopathic medicine practitioner based in Chapmanville, Logan County, faces three counts related to the distribution of this Schedule IV controlled substance between May and July 2023. If convicted, McDevitt may be required to forfeit property involved in the alleged crimes, including his West Virginia medical license and the Chapmanville Medical Center at 384 Main Street.
