City to exceed revenue neutral rate for 2025 budget, see 1/2 mill increase
The Emporia City Commission voted to exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate for 2025, with a one-half mill increase to the mill levy Wednesday. The increase would bring the city's mill levy to a maximum of 45.104 mills, and comes with a $33.78 annual increase in valuations for homeowners with houses appraised at $100,000.

Sterling College’s fifteenth Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on September 28th, 2024. The induction ceremony will be held at halftime of the homecoming football game against Southwestern College at Smisor Stadium. There will be a reception before the game in the Gleason Center.
