Kansas City's Center For Recorded Music has ambitious plans for its new 'Listyning Room'
The Center For Recorded Music is a Kansas City-area nonprofit that brings fans of music together to learn more about the songs and artists they love. Last month, the nonprofit achieved a first: it now has its own dedicated space in Leawood called the "Listyning Room," which holds 50,000 vinyl records, CDs, cassettes and more. There, the Center plans to hold events where presenters will provide context around the music that guests are hearing.
Man, 44, arrested late Monday on meth count after traffic stop in North Topeka
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A man was arrested late Monday in North Topeka in connection with multiple offenses including methamphetamine possession, officials said. A Shawnee County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck with an expired license plate around 11 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of N.W. Kansas's new license plate design in use after change delayed implementation
Kansas's new standard license plate is now available to the public after it was the overwhelming favorite in a public vote in December. The "To the Stars" license plate, featuring a silhouette of the Capitol dome and a gradient blue, white and yellow background, will be issued for Kansans who are ordering new or replacement tags.
