Three things to know

New business offers alternative therapies. A new business has opened in Logan offering alternative forms of physical therapy. Nicholas Devol, a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist, opened up A Point Above earlier this month. Learn more on page A3.

Take care with fireworks. Each year, thousands of people are injured in firework-related incidents, and even sparklers can cause injuries. The Hocking County Health Department offers some safety tips for use of fireworks. See column, page A5.

Equal rights amendment pursued. Ohio Equal Rights is trying to create a ballot initiative to protect Ohioans from discrimination based on race, color, creed or religion, pregnancy status, sex, sexual orientation, and other categories. Learn more on page A12.
