WAVERLY, Ohio — Recent Logan High School graduate Michaela Rushing is the 2024 Rumpke Waste & Recycling Scholarship winner for Logan High School. This scholarship awards $1,000 to a graduating senior at Logan High School pursuing a two or four-year degree at an accredited institution, including vocational/trade schools.

Winners are chosen based on their commitment to their academics, environmental stewardship and desire to serve the community. Michaela plans to attend Marshall University to study Medical Imaging. After earning her degree, she aims to become a radiology technician.

“I dream of becoming a radiology technician to help others,” Michaela writes in her essay. “By producing high-quality images, I can assist doctors in accurately diagnosing medical conditions.”

Michaela values healthcare’s team-like environment, which she experienced in her activities with the Thespian Society, National Honor Society, Key Club and Drug-Free Clubs of America.

“We are pleased to award Michaela’s efforts with this scholarship, and we are proud to support our future medical specialists in their education,” said Rumpke Regional Vice President Bill Youck.
