LOGAN — This coming fall marks the 45th anniversary for the Hocking County Children’s Chorus, and upcoming plans look as though it will be another terrific year for the choristers, their families and the community. There are a full slate of choral performances, two musical theater productions, and another trip to lead the National Anthem at a Columbus Clippers game next spring already on the schedule. Registration for the new 2024-2025 season began July 1 and will run through Aug. 16.

HCCC is open to children of all abilities in Hocking County, and includes children in public schools, private schools, digital academy and those who are homeschooled. Last year, over 1,200 attended their presentation of “The Little Mermaid Jr.” at the Logan High School Theater.

“We are looking at some new and exciting changes this year,” said Therese Karnes, executive director of the HCCC. “There are many wonderful opportunities for our children in Hocking County, and so we decided to give families a choice when registering. Parents may choose to register their children for Session One (August–December), Session Two (January-May), or both sessions.”

Rehearsals are held at the HCCC Music Room, 44 E Main St. in downtown Logan. The schedules are as follows:

Cherubs will present “A Charlie Brown Christmas” on Dec. 2 at the Logan Middle School Theater. Junior and Senior Choristers have the opportunity to volunteer/help as production team members for the Cherubs’ play.
