LOGAN, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Utah State University is throwing an ice cream party this weekend, and you’re invited.

The university’s award-winning Aggie ice cream is well-known across the state, and with National Ice Cream Day around the corner, it planned its inaugural “Cow to Cone Day” community celebration set for Friday, July 19.

The first four hundred people to arrive at the celebration will receive mini ice cream scoops as part of the celebration, according to the news release. The event will also include a petting zoo, face painting, balloon animals, and a coloring contest.

In addition to the family activities, there will be an educational aspect for those interested in learning how the ice cream gets from cow to cone, part of which will include information on the robotic milking process and how the cattle are raised.

“For more than 100 years USU has been raising cattle to produce Utah’s favorite ice cream, but you won’t believe how much has changed through the years until you see it for yourself,” the news release read.

The celebration will take place at the new Blue Square Aggie Ice Cream storefront on 1111 North 800 East, at the edge of the Logan campus, according to a news release. The party will start at 3 p.m. on Friday and end around 5 p.m.
