Former NFL, Colts player in custody after police find missing son, per report

Former NFL and Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Daniel Muir is in police custody after his 14-year-old son, Bryson, was found more than two weeks following his reported disappearance.

According to Eric Graves of Fox59 , Bryson Muir's parents — Daniel and Kristen — "and several other people were detained" after Indiana State Police descended upon a compound in Logansport.

Muir's parents were due in court Tuesday. However, after they didn’t show up, Indiana State Police prepared a large search effort Wednesday morning that included "three SWAT teams, detectives, K9 units and a bomb squad," according to Graves.

The search took place at multiple buildings on the property owned by the Servant Leader’s Foundation, a nonprofit religious group.

On Friday, June 28, a Silver Alert was declared by the Indiana State Police "after his parents backed out of an arrangement to bring the teen to police," according to Fox59 .

Police state that there was an arrangement for Daniel and Kristin Muir to bring their son to meet with ISP at the Peru Post at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. However, the parents reportedly backed out of the meeting.

According to police, Bryson was last seen June 16 leaving his grandmother's house, which resides just outside of Cleveland, Ohio.

His grandmother, Cheryl Wright, said the 14-year-old may have been abused by his father. Wright reported to the police about possible abuse after finding Bryson with a black eye.

Daniel Muir spent parts of seven seasons in the NFL from 2007-2013. He spent parts of four seasons with the Colts between 2008 and 2011 on the active roster.
