All Westchester beaches have reopened for swimming, just in time for Labor Day weekend

As Labor Day weekend approaches, all Westchester County beaches have reopened for swimming.

A county news release Wednesday said Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club, as well as Harbor Island Beach (both in Mamaroneck) are open after having been closed due to high bacteria levels caused by rainfall .

The forecast is for a high near 92 degrees on Wednesday, and a National Weather Service heat advisory is in effect until 8 p.m.

The other beaches open, weather permitting, are:

Mohegan Lake

• Mohegan Beach Park District Beach
• Mohegan Colony Association Beach

Rye

• Coveleigh Club

Mamaroneck

• Beach Point Club
• Orienta Beach Club

New Rochelle

• Hudson Park East Beach
• Davenport Club
• Greentree Club
• Surf Club
• Hudson Park West Beach

When do Westchester beaches, pools close for the season?

County pools/beaches are open until 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2.
