Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival soars above Duchess County: See photos

UNION VALE — Visitors floated on over to the Hudson Valley Friday through Sunday for the 33rd Annual JPMorgan Chase Hot-Air Balloon Festival .

Balloon attendants showed the public how the mode of transportation works, and a few festgoers paid for the chance to soar high above Dutchess County in hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes.

Hosted by the county's Regional Chamber of Commerce at Tymor Park, the event unofficially marks the start of the fall festival season in the Hudson Valley.

Festgoers enjoyed festival food, colorful hot air balloons, a sparkling synchronized Majestic Hot-Air Balloon Illumination Moon Glow show, followed by a fireworks display to close out the night.
