    lohud High School football scoreboard for Sept. 6-7: Check in for live updates and recaps

    We'll again be compiling the final scores from across the region, in real time on Fridays and then with frequent updates on Saturday. Keep checking back over the weekend as we'll be adding recaps with details from each team that sends us information after the final horn.

    Pearl River 27, Tappan Zee 14

    Pirates quarterback Jack Whelan threw scoring passes to Christopher Torrisi and Carter Kalchbrenner. Sean Tavin and T.J. Lanese each ran for a touchdown. Brendan Carlacci intercepted a pair of passes.

    Mamaroneck 14, John Jay-Cross River 8

    Mamaroneck quarterback Kieran Jacobson completed 6 of 11 attempts for 39 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 90 yards on 21 carries. Elijah Friedman totaled 82 yards on two kickoff returns. Max Cooper had an interception and successfully defended three passes for the Tigers while Mika Barry-Thouez, Gabe Derrico and Henry Bohn each recorded a sack.

    Curtis 31, New Rochelle 6

    Wallkill 34, Poughkeepsie 8

    Greeley 34, Port Chester 7

    Julian Asch threw for one TD and ran for another to lead the Quakers. Jameson Blakeslee caught a pair of touchdown passes while Jason Kim and Ben Weinstein each got into the end zone once.

    Somers 40, Ramapo, N.J. 35

    Monroe-Woodbury 21, North Rockland 14

    Game story: Monroe-Woodbury tops North Rockland 21-14, sealing win in closing seconds

    Clarkstown South 35, Lakeland 10

    Landon Van Etten picked up 104 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries while Mason Ready ran for 94 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries to lead the Vikings. Jake Teitel caught a 13-yard scoring pass and Thomas Ryan completed 8 of 18 passes for 81 yards. Kyle Sperring made 10 tackles for South, including two for a loss while Landon Van Etten made seven tackles and recovered a fumble.

    Robbie Policastro gained 122 yards for Lakeland on 12 carries.

    Irvington 18, Edgemont/Blind Brook 0

    Rye 31, Monsignor Farrell 21

    Game story: Rye rallies, slays CHSFL AAA power Monsignor Farrell in 31-21 win

    Ketcham 34, F.D. Roosevelt 13

    Haldane 26, Dover 6

    Brady Corless sparked the Blue Devils with 108 yards and two touchdowns on just six carries. David Powlis completed 7 of 12 passes for 76 yards and one touchdown in his first varsity start at quarterback. Merrick Williams had a pick 6 and Mike Philips made four tackles, including two for a loss.

    Pelham 21, Dobbs Ferry 20

    Frankie Reese completed four passes for 73 yards and one touchdown for the Pelicans. Matt Hirsch had 55 yards and one TD on 10 carries while Peyton Kerr had 56 yards and one TD on 10 carries. James Romano caught three passes for 96 yards and one touchdown.

    Dobbs Ferry quarterback Kevin Hartnett finished with 96 yards and one TD on nine carries and completed 7 of 12 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns, both to Dylan Ravage. Patrick McGoey and Jackson Kearns led the Eagles defense with five tackles apiece.

    Archbishop Spalding (Md.) 45, Stepinac 0

    The Crusaders were shut out for the first time since a 14-0 loss to St. Anthony's in 2011.

    Picks: Here are lohud's weekly high school football predictions to start the 2024 season

    Saturday

    Highland 24, Briarcliff/Hamilton 21

    Kyle Vincent completed 14 of 19 attempts for 232 yards and one touchdown in the loss. William Burch caught seven passes for 148 yards and Luke Murray had five catches for 76 yards. Chase Sedacca caught the TD pass. John Solari ran 17 times for 45 yards and two touchdowns.

    Hen Hud 42, Hastings 14

    Sailors quarterback Joey Abboud completed 5 of 9 passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran 11 times for 68 yards and two TDs. Justin Parkes picked up 131 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries. He also caught two passes for 40 yards. Eric Selvaggi added 59 yards on seven rushes and Hunter Brown: caught three balls for 40 yards and one TD.

    Yorktown 28, Harrison 8

    Game story: Kaden Gonzalez threw four TD passes, leading Yorktown to a surprise win over Harrison

    Minisink Valley 36, Suffern 27

    Mason Polombo threw three touchdown passes in the loss. Michael Cromwell ran for a TD and caught a scoring pass. Finnegan Mitchell and Collin Pringle each caught one touchdown pass for the Mounties. Vincent Valente and Peter Orlando each had an interception.

    Kennedy 26, Mount Vernon 6

    Hackley 20, King (Conn.) 13

    Auggie Teacher had two receptions for 40 yards and one touchdown for the Hornets. Hugo Everitt had a 40-yard TD run. Logan Wissner and Taylor Safriet each had an interception.

    Byram Hills 22, Putnam Valley 21

    Game story: Byram Hills holds off Putnam Valley in back-and-forth battle

    Yonkers Brave 27, Cardinal Spellman 8

    Woodlands 20, Rye Neck 8

    Falcons quarterback Masai Campbell threw for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Ethan Locke ran for 106 yards and one TD, Skyler Turenne added 84 yards and one touchdown and Jamison Stevens rumbled for 50 yards and one TD. Julian Goldstein led the Woodlands defense with five tackles.

    Iona Prep 44, Springfield Central (Mass.) 23

    Clarkstown North 28, East Syracuse 8

    Alex Mulackal got the Rams going with and 85-yard return on the opening kick. Ryan Collopy and Jack Kavanagh each had short TD runs while Sam Garcia rumbled 35 yards for a score. Cian Barry was 4 for 4 on extra points. Anthony Mazur had an interception for North and Ryan Collopy led the defense with eight tackles.

    Hopkins (Conn.) 22, Rye Country Day 9

    Tuckahoe 35, Chester 14

    The Tigers piled up 369 yards rushing. Connor Brice totaled 175 yards and five TDs on 13 carries, Declan Connolly had 83 yards on 15 carries and Logan Bogetti had 55 yards on nine carries.

    Kingston 13, Nyack 2

    Chaminade 27, John Jay-East Fishkill 0

    Upstate Downstate Kickoff Classic at Arlington High School

    Ballston Spa 22, Brewster 2

    Eastchester 12, Queensbury 6

    Nick Martucci had the Eagles up 12-0 with touchdown runs of 18 and 8 yards. He finished with 41 yards on 12 carries. Robbie Maltese had an interception to seal the win. Eastchester quarterback Dylan Burbridge carried 10 times for 32 yards and completed 2 of 6 passes for 46 yards.

    Mahopac 17, Averill Park 7

    Jack Clifford ran for 102 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries while Nate Mascoll picked up 48 yards on 14 carries for the Wolf Pac. Ryan Sacco completed 3 of 5 passes for 47 yards and one TD, a 13-yard connection with Lorenzo Echandy. Mahopac forced four fumbles and recovered three of them. Mascoll also blocked a punt.
