Pitbull is joining New York Mets infielder and Latin pop superstar José Iglesias on a remix of his summer hit song, just in time for the Mets playoff showdown in the NLCS.

The remix of the sports song of the summer is set to release Oct. 11, two days before the Mets face either the San Diego Padres or the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first game of the National League Championship Series on Sunday, October 13.

Iglesias, the 34-year-old Cuban-American infielder, made waves in New York both in baseball and Latin music charts when he was added to the Mets' Major League roster in May . In June, he released his debut single 'OMG', which reached No. 1 on the iTunes Latin Pop Charts.

Iglesias, who performs under the name Candelita, used it as his walk-up song after it was released, and on June 28, performed the song for the first time in front of hundreds of fans at Citi Field. Now, the Mets play 'OMG' after every home run they hit at Citi Field.

Iglesias even made a special meet and greet appearance for diehard Lower Hudson Valley Mets fans at Playland in August and performed the song live.

Mets on fire this season: OMG remix comes at perfect time

The Mets have lit New York on fire this year with a baseball season that is nothing short of 'epic.' The underdog team, which opened the season with five straight losses , enjoyed a seven-game win streak in the summer after Grimace, the lumpy purple McDonald's mascot, threw the first pitch at a home game on June 12.

Since then, Mets fans have embraced the character as their 'good luck charm ' and have had high hopes for the team after their Wild Card series win against the Milwaukee Brewers on Oct. 1 brought them to the playoffs.

The Mets threw the sports world into another frenzy on Wednesday night after shortstop Francisco Lindor hit a grand slam in the sixth inning, bringing the team their first National League Division title since 2015.

In the midst of all the excitement around the team, the OMG remix could not come at a better time for fans and the franchise as Mr. Worldwide teams up with Iglesias for a fresh version of the Mets' unofficial anthem. Colombian singer Silvestre Dangond is also on the remixed track.

According to USA TODAY's For The Win, some fans hoped to see Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny on the track, as he is consistently on the top of the Latin charts as one of the world's most streamed artists. However, Pitbull, who is also a proud Cuban-American, may be just what the song needs to keep up the hype.

The Mets are set to face either the Los Angeles Dodgers or the San Diego Padres starting Sunday, Oct. 13 during the National League Championship series. Whichever National League team wins the series moves on to face the American League champions at the World Series, starting on Oct. 25.
