    'It's Great to Live in Harrison' weekend includes car show, fireworks, parade and more

    Celebrate the long weekend in Westchester starting Saturday, with festivities that prove how great it is to live in Harrison.

    Read on for what to expect this Columbus Day Weekend in Harrison.

    Saturday car show and fireworks slated for West Harrison

    Bring the whole family to the West Harrison Business District , 73 Lake Street, at 10 a.m. Saturday for a day of fun, starting with a Hot Rod Heaven car show and music.

    Rain date for the car show is Oct. 19.

    Then at 7 p.m., head to the West Harrison Firehouse for a concert, followed by a fireworks display.

    Harrison Police to host Open House event Sunday

    On Sunday, Harrison Police will host an Open House, featuring first responders from local emergency services departments.

    Visitors can get up close with a New York State Police helicopter, meet the Mount Pleasant Police Department and the New York State K-9 Unit, and more. Thanks to the Harrison Police Benevolent Association, families can enjoy a bouncy castle, face painting, snacks and more.

    The event kicks off at 10 a.m. and goes on until 2 p.m. at 650 North Street .

    It's Great to Live in Harrison parade set for Monday

    The annual Columbus Day event "It's Great to Live in Harrison" parade steps off at 10 a.m. Monday from Ma Riis Park.

    Following the parade, enjoy rides, food and fun for all ages.
