Assault over parking spot leads to man barricading self in home, California cops say

A man and woman face charges after a dispute over a parking spot in Loma Linda erupted into violence, California authorities reported.

After the argument over a parking space , the two assaulted the other person and one pulled out a gun at 4:04 p.m. Monday, July 1, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

The two fled in a maroon Kia Optima, deputies said.

Deputies spotted the car a short time later and arrested Keira Brown, 18, of Loma Linda in connection with the incident, the release said.

They then learned Lonnie Hall, 45, of Compton, who also was sought in the incident, was at a home in Loma Linda, deputies said.

When deputies surrounded the home, Hall initially refused to come out but later surrendered “after a brief standoff,” officials said.

Brown and Hall face charges of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy, deputies said.
