    London orders special council meeting to address new leadership

    LONDON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The city of London has ordered a special council meeting on Monday to address a need for new leadership,.

    London is turning the page to a new chapter as both the police chief and fire chief are stepping away, according to the meeting’s agenda.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

    The agenda lists plans to confirm new people for both positions at the meeting. Councilperson Kip Jervis is scheduled to address the mayor, council, and public as well.

    “Carl Hacker is the current Chief of the Fire Department and is retiring as well. Donnie Hale will be replacing him,” Mayor Randall Weddle told FOX 56. He confirmed that Chuck Johnson, the current police chief, and Hacker will both be retiring on July 31.
