Football teams and players spend a lot of time in their home locker rooms preparing for games, putting on their equipment, visiting the training staff, getting taped up for games, or simply hanging out with their teammates before and after games.

The 71st Annual Dubuque County Fair gets underway on Tuesday, July 23th and runs through the 38th. Since moving to Dubuque, I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Fair in back-to-back years. Last year, I had a blast seeing old and new faces, and hanging with Ken Peiffer at the 103.3 WJOD tent for multiple days in a row.
Vikes’ playoff foiled by Independence
An early deficit proved to be too much for the Decorah baseball team Friday as the Vikes hosted Independence (14-20) in the Class 3A Substate 3 quarterfinals. It was the second meeting for the two squads this season on Olejniczak field with the Mustangs taking this one as well, 7-5. Decorah ends the season 22-15.
The circus is coming to Forest City
The Culpepper and Merri-weather Circus is coming to Forest City, Thursday, Aug. 1, at Heritage Park of North Iowa with shows at 5 and 7:30 p.m. The circus has been providing quality, local, family entertainment for 38 years. This authentic one-ring, big top circus has been featured on television. They are very excited to bring you their brand new performance featuring big cats presented by Trey Key, aerialist extraordinaire Simone on the trapeze, 10th generation Loyal bareback horse riders, the Perez daredevil duo on the tight rope and wheel of destiny, Elizabeth Ayala’s incredible foot juggling and hair hang, and everyone’s favorite circus clown, Leo Acton.
City of Dubuque to Offer Free Storm Damage Collection
Following the significant derecho that impacted Dubuque on Monday, July 15, the City of Dubuque is offering residents a free collection service for storm-damaged tree limbs and branches. This special no-charge collection will commence on Wednesday, July 17, and continue through Tuesday, July 23, to aid residents in the cleanup efforts.

One person flown to the hospital after Charles City auto accident
CHARLES CITY, Iowa – One person was flown to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning. Charles City Fire Rescue says it was called to the accident south of town around 5:15 am and arrived to find two cars with significant damage. One person was already receiving medical treatment by AMR Ambulance Service. A second person had to be removed from a vehicle using hydraulic spreaders and cutters.
