IOWA CITY, Iowa-- It has been an offseason of change for Hawkeye hoops. Iowa will be without Tony Perkins and Patrick McCaffery while bringing in some potential key players. One thing that stands out about this year's group is that they come from all walks of life. Freshman Cooper Koch is an Iowa legacy. Chris Tadjo was born in Canada and played for NBA Academy in Mexico City. Seydou Traore is a New York native while Drew Thelwell was born in Florida and played basketball in Kentucky.
A New Dog Park Will Open in Cedar Rapids This Week
Cedar Rapids will get its third dog park later on this week! The 12th Avenue Dog Park is set to open its gates on Friday, July 19th at 10:30 a.m. Located at 405 12th Avenue SE in the Oak Hill Jackson Neighborhood, the 12th Avenue Dog Park is around a half-acre in size. It is completely fenced-in and equipped with benches and concrete entry areas, but there is still more to come. The Cedar Rapids city website says:

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Two University of Iowa men’s basketball student-athletes – juniors Payton Sandfort and Riley Mulvey – have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court, it was announced Monday by the NABC. NABC Honors Court honorees include juniors, seniors and graduate students who finished the 2023-24 year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
