1 Killed in Fiery Truck Crash off 710 Freeway in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif., July 7 (KNN) — One person was discovered deceased in a crashed truck involving fire early Saturday morning just off the 710 Freeway in the city of Long Beach.

California Highway Patrol officers and Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to an iPhone crash alert shortly after 2:30 a.m. Saturday, on the northbound 710 Freeway at the Anaheim Street exit.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and successfully extinguished the flames consuming a crashed truck.

Shortly after, firefighters and paramedics discovered a body inside the truck and pronounced the unidentified individual deceased at the scene.

It is not known at this time if speed or alcohol was a factor in the fatal crash. CHP and Long Beach police were attempting to determine who’s handling the crash investigation.
