Two men shot at beach parking lot in Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CNS) - Two men were shot while at a beach parking lot in Long Beach, authorities said Sunday.

Officers were flagged down at about 9:50 p.m. Saturday in the area of Alamitos Avenue and Fifth Street regarding a man with a gunshot wound to the upper body, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

While officers were providing aid to the shooting victim, a second man self-transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower body, police said. He was listed in stable condition, and both victims were expected to survive.

Both men were at Juniper Lot, 1 Junipero Ave., when they were struck by gunfire from an unknown suspect.

"The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time. Casings were recovered," according to a police statement. "The investigation is ongoing."
