RILEY, OREGON — The FALLS FIRE is burning about 20 miles north of Riley and 26 miles northwest of Burns, Oregon. It started on July 10, 2024, from an undetermined cause and was listed yesterday just shy of 1,000 acres at 957. Today, it has spread incredibly so fast.
Recall issued for Oregon-based sausage producer
Oregon-based Taylor's Sausage has issued a recall for approximately 74 pounds of its ready-to-eat Landjaeger sausage products. Undeclared allergens and misbranding drew concerns from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, which announced the recall in a Saturday news release. The product in question contains soy, a common allergen, which was not listed on the product label.

Customers, workers react to proposed merger of Albertsons and Kroger
EUGENE, Ore -- Major changes could be coming to a number of Albertsons and Safeway stores all over Oregon, including in Lane County. A potential merger is in the works between grocery chains Kroger and Albertsons. The Albertsons at the corner of Eugene's Division Avenue and River Road is one of several local stores on a list of stores that will be affected by the grocery store merger.

Nez Perce Tribe celebrates land return in Joseph, Oregon
JOSEPH - On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, members of the Nez Perce Tribal Executive Committee (NPTEC) with Dolores and David Bridges, gathered in Enterprise, Oregon to commemorate the transfer of the Bridges' 17-acre property in Joseph, Oregon. The Bridges, wishing to conserve the land as wildlife habitat, decided to donate the entire property to the Nez Perce Tribe, while retaining a life estate in the property.
