US Forest Service pilot fighting fire near Stanley hikes to safety after helicopter crash
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Officials say the pilot of a helicopter that was responding to a small wildfire in central Idaho before crashing in the Sawtooth National Forest survived and was able to hike to a waiting ambulance. The helicopter was among the aircraft responding Thursday night to a small wildfire burning near Redfish Lake, a popular camping and recreation destination. U.S. Forest Service spokesperson Angela Hawkins says the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident. She said the Forest Service was not immediately able to release additional information. Authorities evacuated one small campground on the south end of the lake because of the fire.

Boise man arrested after stolen vehicle linked to multiple thefts and fraud
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Boise Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from an apartment complex on July 10 before 9 a.m. on the 8000 block of Shellie Lane. Evidence indicates the vehicle was locked and stolen around 1 a.m. Surveillance video showed a male suspect unscrewing a light bulb at a nearby residence beforehand. Officers located the car abandoned on the 2000 block of North Milwaukee Street and found items were stolen from inside.
