From jail cell to FBI custody
Legal difficulties mount for a 36-year-old Seneca man. According to the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, Carl Lee Robert Price was charged last week with sexual exploitation of a minor. On July 9, Price was arrested by a U-S Marshals Task Force in Union County, South Carolina and, after being bonded out of jail, was turned over to FBI custody. Oconee Sheriff’s Office lists the following charges against Price: grand larceny, violation of the sex offender registry, and 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor second degree.

Boil Water Advisory for Walhalla
Connections are being completed as part of the Highway 11 Water Line Project, and water service is being resumed in the City of Walhalla. A boil water advisory is in effect for the next 48 hours for customers in the Scenic Heights Road, Eastcliff Drive, Woodberry Court, Starling Drive, Burns Mill Road, and surrounding areas. Duke Energy’s Request for Taller Tower Approved
The Oconee County Board of Zoning Appeals unanimously approved Duke Energy’s request for a variance and special exception to install a new 310-foot communications tower on Rochester Highway in Seneca. The $2.1 million tower will exceed the 250-foot height restriction by 60 feet and is part of Duke Energy’s effort to enhance connectivity and support the county’s future growth and SmartGrid. The new tower, located on Duke’s 159.9-acre site near the Oconee Nuclear Station, will improve point-to-point connections and network performance, support emergency services, and provide potential leasing opportunities for future wireless carriers. Duke Energy’s application highlighted the tower’s role in advancing technology and reliability, with no community opposition reported.
