In Melville, Anthony Scotto opens a new restaurant

The dining venue that restaurateur Anthony Scotto has been planning for over a year in Melville opens its doors Thursday for dinner and cocktail service.

The Halston American Kitchen & Bar is a 250-seat restaurant serving up classic American entrees. It is housed in a hub that is central to the business community, in the Rubie Corporate Plaza at 400 Broadhollow Road on the Long Island Expressway’s South Service Road.

The modern dcor is designed to welcome those meeting for a business lunch or dinner, as well as couples, families and friends. Also on tap is a “Sunday Soiree” brunch, complete with live music.

"We started working on the concept and vision for The Halston close to a year ago. Much thought and planning pours into an effort like this," Scotto, president and founder of Anthony Scotto Restaurants, said in a news release about the new restaurant.

"We sought to bring five-star dining into a casual, yet elegant atmosphere,” he added. “I wanted to develop a menu that everyone can appreciate, that is approachable and has a lot of variety. We will be showcasing many American classics, and adding our own twist."

The menu offers Scotto’s approach to salads, burgers, tacos, sushi, seafood, pasta and more. The bar menu features signature cocktails, mocktails, fine spirits, and a wine list that meets a range of price points.

The venue features outdoor dining, take-out, and an event space for parties between 15 and 200 people.

The restaurant group comprises a number of venues including Blackstone Steakhouse, Opus Mediterranean Restaurant, One10 Modern Italian Restaurant and others.
