The Stony Brook Medicine Physician Network is expanding.

Both East Setauket-based Dr. Siva Kolupoti and his practice, Three Village Medical Care, as well as the Smithtown-based practice of Dr. John Labiak have joined the Stony Brook Medicine Community Medical Group.

Dr. Dara Brener, clinical quality director of Stony Brook Medicine Community Medical Group, welcomed the two practices.

Kolupoti’s “dedication to providing comprehensive primary care to his patients is an essential foundation in their healthcare journey," Brener said in a written statement.

Labiak’s “extensive experience and commitment to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care ensures that patients will receive the highest quality treatment in the communities he serves,” Brener said.

"As a primary care physician, I am thrilled and honored to serve this community," Kolupoti said in a written statement.

"My excitement stems from the opportunity to provide comprehensive and compassionate care that revolves around each patient's unique needs and well-being. Together we can build a healthier future," Kolupoti added.

Labiak spoke of his long-time connection to Stony Brook University Medicine.

"As a spine surgeon, I have had the privilege and pleasure of working at Stony Brook University Hospital for many years. I have witnessed tremendous growth and outstanding commitment to excellence during my tenure,” Labiak said in a written statement.

“I look forward to continued mutual growth and providing exceptional care as we embark on this new chapter as part of Stony Brook Medicine Community Medical Group,” Labiak added.

Kolupoti earned his medical degree from Siddhartha Medical College in Vijayawada, India, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens in Queens.

Labiak received his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse and completed an orthopaedic surgery residency and subsequent spine surgery fellowship at The Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute in New York. He shares his knowledge and experience as a clinical assistant professor of orthopaedics and neurosurgery at Stony Brook Medicine.
