OCEAN CITY, Md. — A passerby noticed asinkhole on an Ocean City Expressway bridge Wednesday night, as travelers were arriving for the holiday weekend, 11 News has learned. Since then, the Maryland State Highway Administration has put metal plates over the hole and across Maryland Route 90's travel lanes as a temporary fix while crews continue to monitor.

Ocean City Delays Beach Fireworks Display Due to 'Unexpected High Tide'
OCEAN CITY, Md. - The Town of Ocean City has announced the downtown fireworks show for this July 4th has been delayed due to an "unexpected high tide." Officials said the display is now scheduled for 10 p.m. Thursday evening. The town says the tide created an unexpected interruption during the show's set-up. They went on to say crews are working hard to make sure the show is ready for this evening's celebration.
Crews Respond to Millsboro Trailer Fire
MILLSBORO, DE– The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company (IRVFC) responded to a trailer fire near Oak Orchard Wednesday afternoon. Crews arrived at 28532 Cerulean Lane at approximately 4:44 p.m. on July 3 to find a demolished trailer on fire. Delaware State Fire Police directed traffic as River Road was closed for access throughout the response.
National Weather Service warns of excessive heat through Saturday
Effective until 8 p.m. Saturday, the National Weather Service has declared a heat advisory for the whole of Delaware. The heat index is expected to reach and sustain more than 100 degrees, especially in urban areas, forecasters said.
Sussex man faces 10th home improvement fraud charge
Ocean View Police Department officers arrested Jeremy Bowen, 45, of Ocean View on charges of Home Improvement Fraud. Bowen was taken into custody on July 2. According to Police, Bowen contracted with a local homeowner to install a fence. The homeowner paid Bowen $3,550 upfront for the project. However, Bowen never showed up to perform the work.

Rehoboth Beach man faces felony charges after early morning traffic stop
DEWEY BEACH, Del. – A Rehoboth Beach man is facing felony charges following a traffic stop early Friday morning. Dewey Beach Police say they stopped 21-year-old Kyle Kilgo for motor vehicle violations in the area of Coastal Highway and Scarborough Avenue Extended in Rehoboth Beach just after 2AM. During the stop officers say they found a large fixed-blade knife concealed in the glove compartment, plus marijuana, suspected promethazine and drug packaging paraphernalia in the car.
