St. Cloud authorities seek missing teen
ST. CLOUD, Minn. — St. Cloud police are requesting help in finding missing teen Shikita Jones, who was last seen on May 25. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) posted on X about the 17-year-old, saying she was reported as a runaway from a home in the 1400 block of Minnesota Boulevard in St. Cloud.
New London Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash
(Learfield News/Silver Bay, MN) — A man from Kandiyohi County is the victim of a deadly motorcycle crash on Highway 61 along Minnesota’s North Shore. The State Patrol says a motorcycle driven by 62-year-old Douglas Studanski of New London left the roadway Sunday near Silver Bay, went into the ditch, and struck a road sign and a bush.
St. Cloud Team Wins MN Legion Softball State Title
St Cloud Hype Post 76 captured the MN Legion Softball State Championship held in Bemidji by defeating La Crescent 3-2 Sunday. Ella Voit threw the complete game, giving up 3 hits, 0 earned runs, and struck out 10 batters. Sam Dingmann drove in the first run with a single in the top of the 4th inning. St. Cloud added a run in the 4th on a wild pitch. La Crescent scored a run the bottom of the 4th on an error by St Cloud. Ella Voit drove in an insurance run in the top of the 6th after an Ellie Meyers triple. La Crescent added a run in the bottom of the 7th and had the tying run at 2nd base, but a strikeout ended the game and St Cloud won the championship in their first year as a Legion team.
Little Crow comes in 3rd at regionals
(Aberdeen, South Dakota)-- The Little Crow Ski Team of New London placed third this past weekend in the Midwest Regional Show Ski Championships in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The Little Crow Ski Team scored 1,479 points. 2nd place went to the Ski Otters from White Bear Lake with a score 1,582 points, and the Twin Cities River Rats from Minneapolis place first with 1,685 points.
Stingers win in North Dakota
DICKINSON, ND – The Stingers offense dominated on Sunday evening out west and swept the series against the Badlands Big Sticks 9-3. Willmar got on the board in the 1st, striking for two. The first came on an Andrew Sojka (CSUN) RBI double who then came around to score.
Fiery Car Train Crash Sunday Morning Under Investigation
(KNSI) — A stretch of railroad track in southeast St. Cloud was closed for hours on Sunday morning after a vehicle was hit by a train. The St. Cloud Fire Department says it was called to the crossing at 7th Street Southeast and Lincoln Avenue just after 5:00. When they arrived, the vehicle was already fully engulfed in flames. Burlington Northern Santa Fe personnel also hurried to the scene to ensure that hazardous materials on board had not escaped.
