Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity holds 4th “Hang with Habitat” networking event in Longmeadow

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – A local organization hosted a networking event in Longmeadow, providing attendees a chance to relax and connect.

Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity held its 4th “Hang with Habitat” event at One Way Brewing on Maple Road. The atmosphere allowed people to learn more about the work they do around the area and network with their staff and board of directors. 22News spoke with a representative about the importance of building these relationships with the community.

“It’s mostly important because we are very struggling. We’re struggling very much for funding right now. So it’s important to get out there and put our name out there so that people realize that we’re not just out in third world countries,” said Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity Homeowner Programs coordinator, Olga Callirgos.

All proceeds from beer sales Thursday night go to support Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building houses and other repair projects. There is another “Hang with Habitat” event scheduled for October.
