The Center for Children and Families celebrates 25th anniversary
The Center for Children and Families is celebrating its 25th anniversary of helping communities in Louisiana and Mississippi. The Center has provided counseling, education and advocacy to thousands of families throughout its 25 years. The organization has grown from a small Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program in Monroe to a nationally recognized organization that serves over 4,000 clients a year. Around 275 staff and volunteers serve communities in Monroe, Crowley, Shreveport, Louisiana and Clinton Mississippi.

Monroe man arrested for Possession of a stolen firearm; multiple drug charges
MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On July 16, 2024, the Metro Narcotics Unit obtained a search warrant to a Monroe residence. Upon arrival, officials were able to arrest a suspect. Monterrell Collins reportedly advised officers that he only had Marijuana and firearms in his possession. Officials then uncovered information that Collins is a convicted felon, with Possession charges dating back to 2017.
Another Texas Megachurch Pastor Is Stepping Down, Cites Moral Failings
There's been a peculiar series of megachurch controversies occurring over the last few months. First, Tony Evans. Then, Robert Morris. Now, it's Tony Cammarota, who's stepping down as pastor of Texas' Stonebriar Community Church. Per NBC, the church terminated Cammarota after he "confessed to church leadership of a moral failure.
