Skate with Shreveport at Saturday’s Skate Bash
This Saturday brings the Shreveport Skate Bash to Caddo Common Park in downtown Shreveport, put on by Nionea Anderson with the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC). Starting at 6 pm on Saturday, July 20th, the community is invited to bust out their roller skates or skateboards to enjoy the local skate scene together. If skating isn't your forte you're still happily invited to attend with music, face painting, and food trucks on site. The Skate Bash will be a family-friendly event with security on location to keep everyone safe and the wheels rolling. The best part of all is the entire event will be free to attend.

SHREVEPORT, LA - Parents and students in schools across Louisiana are on notice today about new rules for cell phone use in schools. State lawmakers passed a measure tightening the rules. Senator Beth Mizell of Franklinton pushed for passage of Senate Bill 207 which won approval unanimously in the Senate and passed 84 to 13 on the House floor.

Shreveport Police Investigating Hearne Ave Homicide
SHREVEPORT, LA Shreveport Police Investigate Homicide. On July 15th, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Shreveport Police Patrol Officers responded to a shots fired call at Westover Street and Velva Street. While responding, officers observed two vehicles leaving the scene in opposite directions on Hearne Avenue. Officers attempted to stop both vehicles, but neither yielded to emergency lights or sirens.
