U.S. Highway 59 Outside Tenaha Scene of Major Crash Incident
July 18, 2024 - Emergency personnel responded to a major cash incident just outside of Tenaha on U.S. Highway 59 Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 3:48pm. The crash involved an 18-wheeler and a passenger car, which had multiple occupants, approximately a mile-and-a-half from Tenaha. Tenaha Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene and Timpson Volunteer Fire Department arrived at the location to assist.

According to Humor and Harmony Weekend’s website, the festival is relocating from Independence Stadium to the historic Shreveport Municipal Auditorium. The change is happening due to forecasted extreme temperatures.

Downtown Shreveport property owners next week will have the opportunity to hear from the mayor on a planned change to the way vacant buildings are regulated. Mayor Tom Arceneaux has proposed a change to city code which would require owners of vacant downtown properties to register them with the city and make arrangements for their upkeep, a move he hopes will lead to the restoration of some long-decaying sites and their reintroduction to local commerce. Though the mayor had hoped to introduce the ordinance for a city council vote already, he's delayed the decision so as to provide more opportunities for property owners to be informed about the potential changes.
