U.S. Highway 59 Outside Tenaha Scene of Major Crash Incident
July 18, 2024 - Emergency personnel responded to a major cash incident just outside of Tenaha on U.S. Highway 59 Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 3:48pm. The crash involved an 18-wheeler and a passenger car, which had multiple occupants, approximately a mile-and-a-half from Tenaha. Tenaha Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene and Timpson Volunteer Fire Department arrived at the location to assist.

Shreveport wants tighter rules on vacant downtown buildings. Here's what will be required.
Downtown Shreveport property owners next week will have the opportunity to hear from the mayor on a planned change to the way vacant buildings are regulated. Mayor Tom Arceneaux has proposed a change to city code which would require owners of vacant downtown properties to register them with the city and make arrangements for their upkeep, a move he hopes will lead to the restoration of some long-decaying sites and their reintroduction to local commerce. Though the mayor had hoped to introduce the ordinance for a city council vote already, he's delayed the decision so as to provide more opportunities for property owners to be informed about the potential changes.

SHREVEPORT, La. -- A driver was injured Thursday afternoon during a collision between a mail delivery truck and pickup truck in southwest Shreveport. The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Fountainbleau Road and Mansfield Road. The driver of a large pickup truck was southbound on Mansfield Road when a USPS mail truck driver crossed from Fountainbleau into the northbound side of Mansfield Road.

Man on the run for 30+ years finally sentenced for shooting in Ringgold
CLAIBORNE PARISH, La. (KSLA) - A Bienville Parish man who was on the run for more than 30 years after shooting someone in Ringgold has now been sentenced. Greg Lawson, who is now 64-years-old, was caught in Mexico by the FBI in September of 2023 after being on the run for 32 years. Back in 1991, Lawson shot Seth Garlington, who was 19 at the time, in Ringgold in an incident that started as a fist fight.
