Woman pleads guilty to 2018 fatal stabbing of 81-year-old man
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A woman who was arrested for stabbing an elderly man to death pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Tuesday. A news release from the Caddo Parish District Attorney said LaKendra Wesley, 37, pleaded guilty to District Judge Ramona Emanuel on the charge of manslaughter related to the June 2018 death of Kenneth Miller, 81. She also pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of unauthorized entry of an uninhabited dwelling and was sentenced to four years, which she will serve concurrently with the 40-year manslaughter term.

Community members hope that an online fundraiser will cover the expenses for repairing the damage to a local World War II veteran's home caused by one of last week's storms.
