NSU will introduce Genovese Tuesday
Northwestern State University will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23 ,to introduce James. T. Genovese as the university’s 21st president. The event will be in the Sylvan Friedman Student Union Ballroom. All in the community are invited. Genovese, who has served as an associate justice on the Louisiana Supreme Court, was named the university’s president July 18 and will assume office in August. Tuesday’s program will include recognition of local and regional elected officials, figures from Genovese’s personal life, special presentations to the newly elected president and comments from Genovese.
$3.3 million in FEMA relief announced for the replacement of the Houma Fire Department Airbase Station
U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. and John Kennedy recently announced Louisiana will receive $4,656,004.92 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Hurricane Ida relief. Terrebonne Parish will receive $3,340,194.23 for the replacement of the Houma Fire Department Airbase Station. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will receive $1,315,810.69 for hazardous debris and tree removal efforts.
