TCU cross country squads claim 3rd in Waseca Invite

Thursday evening, the Tri-City United cross country team made the trip to Waseca’s Lakeside Golf Course to compete an invitational hosted by Big South Conference foe Waseca. Both the boys and girls teams claimed third place finishes in the meet for the Titans.

For the girls team, Yasmin Ruiz led the way with a time of 20:10.3 to claim fourth place followed by Kaylee Gogerty earning 20th with a time of 22:50.3. Taylor Engel (23:19.8), Megan Marek (23:22.3) and Elizabeth Robrahn (26:58.1) rounded out the team scoring for TCU finishing 22nd, 23rd and 34th respectively.

In the boys race, Grant Fitterer led the Titans with a time of 18:14.7 to finish seventh overall followed by Gabriel Coryell who claimed 13th with a time of 19:39.2. Rounding out the team scoring for TCU were Peter Robrahn (20:11.7), Cowen Bruzek (20:59.9) and Soren McNamara (21:21.7).

The Titans are scheduled to return to action Wednesday, Oct. 9, when they travel to North Mankato’s Benson Park to compete in the Mankato East Invitational. Races are scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m.
