Impressive Academic Honors Continue for Lee Women's Golf Team
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Lee University women's golf team received another honor from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on Tuesday (July 16) when it was listed 24th among the top 25 NCAA DII women's collegiate golf programs with the highest collective average team GPAs which includes all the team's student-athletes for the 2023-24 season.

Methadone Clinic Hearing Delayed Till August
The state hearing on a proposed methadone clinic for Putnam County has been delayed until August. Cedar Recovery wants to open a facility along Burgess Falls Road, just outside the Cookeville City Limits. The proposal must be approved by the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission. The July hearing on the proposal has been delayed, according to a state official, because of a logistical issue.

Amy Matthews slaps husband after he catches her cheating
31-year-old Amy Matthews was involved in a domestic altercation with her husband, Alex Matthews, at her Cindy Jo Court residence on June 29th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Alex, who claimed an argument occurred because he found out Amy was talking to another man. Alex informed officers that, after this, they both began arguing before it turned physical when Amy attempted to grab Alex’s phone. Amy proceeded to slap Alex multiple times on the leg while yelling, “he hit me.” Alex provided officers with footage of the incident that he recorded. Amy Matthews was then deemed the primary aggressor, and she was then taken into custody for domestic assault on July 3rd.
