Lincoln, NE - July 22, 2024 - One lucky player who bought a Lucky For Life ticket for the Sunday, July 21 drawing has won $25,000 a year for the rest of their life. The Nebraska Lottery has confirmed that one ticket sold for Sunday's Lucky For Life draw matched all five winning white ball numbers for the second prize. The Kearney Misko Seniors had their season come to a close at the A7 Seniors District Tournament in Scottsbluff. The Misko Seniors fell to the North Platte FNBO Nationals on Friday, 7-6. They were scheduled to play the Grand Island Home Federal Seniors on Saturday, but the game was pushed to Sunday morning after severe weather forced the rest of the day’s baseball to be called off. The Sunday morning game would go in favor of Home Federal, 6-4.
Woman loses nearly $2,000 in Lincoln Police sergeant impersonation scam
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A woman lost nearly $2,000 on Saturday after she gave money to a scammer pretending to be a sergeant with the Lincoln Police Department. A 75-year-old woman reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be “Sgt. Randy Clark” with LPD. The caller told her she had a warrant for her arrest for failing to appear in court and needed to pay $2,400 to avoid jail.
