Pulaski Playground expected to reopen this month

WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – As work continues on South Wheeling’s Pulaski Playground, the city has projected that the area will likely be reopened to the public as early as this month.

Since receiving the green light for the utilization of $260,150 in funds for improvements to be made upon the facility – an expenditure which was approved during the October 3rd meeting of Wheeling City Council, the installation of new playground equipment at Pulaski Playground has been ongoing.

The improvements were not limited simply to playground equipment, however, as the city indicates that the paving of the playground basketball court occurred in the fall as part of an ongoing effort toward playground renovations throughout the city.

“In addition to new playground equipment, the basketball court was paved in late Fall,” said the City of Wheeling in a statement. “In the last several years, most of the playgrounds throughout the city have been renovated.”

It was indicated on Wednesday that Parks & Recreation Department officials with the city are currently anticipating that Pulaski Playground will be reopening at some point in April.
