WVU basketball lands top Ohio recruit

MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia University (WVU) Men’s Basketball has landed former Xavier commit Jonathan Powell.

Powell, a senior at Centerville High School in Dayton, Ohio, committed to WVU on Monday morning.

Powell is a 6’4, 170 pound shooting guard.

He has been ranked as one of the top basketball players in Ohio and within the top 125 in the U.S. coming in at 4 stars.

Powell has also received offers from Alabama, Dayton, Cincinnati, Xavier, and others.

WVU Head Basketball Coach Darian DeVries posted the “Cue Country Roads” GIF to X/Twitter shortly after which has been used by coaching staff to signify a commit.
